Hooghly, West Bengal | July 2025 — Gaurav Goswami, a renowned martial artist from Hooghly District, West Bengal, has been officially conferred with the prestigious title of “Shihan” by the World Senkoukai Karate Organization, a globally respected body whose style is recognized by the International Bujutsu Karate Association, Japan.

This honor comes following Mr. Goswami’s successful completion of his 5th Dan Black Belt Examination held on 15th April 2025, marking a significant milestone in his martial arts journey.Gaurav Shihan is also a FIT India Ambassador of FIT India Mission (Government of India) representing Kickboxing as his main style in India.

The style he practices traces its lineage to the traditional Shotokan Karate system, which is internationally recognized and officially approved by the Karate India Organization (KIO), the national federation affiliated with World Karate Federation (WKF) and Asian Karate Federation (AKF).

With a martial arts career spanning over three decades, Shihan Gaurav Goswami is a former International Champion who has been actively practicing and promoting various combat disciplines including Karate, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, and Boxing since 1995.He is also a 3rd Dan Black Belt Holder in both Kickboxing (WAKO) and Taekwondo (Kukkiwon).

He is also the founder and head instructor of the Traditional School of Martial Arts (TSMA),Amateur Ashitedo Akhada Association and represents the Shotokan Karate Do International Association, Japan in the Hooghly district, continuing his mission to develop disciplined martial artists and instill traditional values among youth.

This new recognition further cements his standing as one of India’s leading martial arts figures and his dedication towards the development of martial arts.
